Cheree' Clay Bailey, Artist and scholar of Riverdale GA, had an early start at Art@Work at Studioplex in Atlanta for two consecutive summers (20002-2006) as an apprentice artist. Bailey Attended Westlake High School Thereafter in 2010 , Clay was accepted to the undergraduate program at Atlanta Metropolitan (State) College, she received an Associate’s Degree in Art . While at the Atlanta Metropolitan, Clay served a semester as vice president of the colleges Art Club. The following year, in 2012, Clay was selected to intern at Rising Sons Lounge in Underground Atlanta with renowned illustrator and performing artist Fahamu Pécou, for three months.
                In 2013, Bailey entered Columbus State University (CSU) to study painting under the instruction of Orion Wertz, Professor.  She was appointed by Wertz to study with renowned American painter Bo Barlett in March of 2015 at Swift Mill Studios and was invited back by Bo the following year.  Clay participated in the 21st and 22nd  Annual Juried Art Exhibition held in the Bay Gallery at CSU, where Clay’s painting was selected as the 1st Place winner by Jiha Moon,juror; for the 22nd Juried Art Exhibition in 2014. The following summer in July 2015, was Clays first solo held in Riverdale GA, Clay's home town. the following year Clay was selected as the 1st Artist in Residence for Black Art in America by Najee Dorsey for six weeks. In closing, Clay hopes to continue excelling and maturing within conceptual art practice, education, exhibiting and speaking about the works. Clay received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art, May 2017 and hopes to have her second solo Exhibition in East Point GA in the fall of 2017.
